Movie News: ‘The Conjuring 3’ Confirmed; ‘Blade’ Will Return in a Marvel Movie “Someday”

The Conjuring 3: David Leslie Johnson (Orphan), who cowrote The Conjuring 2, will write the third installment of the horror series. The sequel has already inspired two spin-off movies (The Nun and The Crooked Man). Reportedly, James Wan (above with Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson) will serve as a producer on the project but is not likely to direct. Though the plot has not yet been revealed, it’s expected to once again be drawn from a real-life paranormal investigation by Ed and Lorraine Warren. [Deadline]

Blade: Trinity

Blade: Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige says the half-human, half-vampire character Blade might appear again in a future Marvel project. Blade starred in a series of three movies between 1998 and 2004. (See Wesley Snipes, Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Biel in Blade: Trinity above). Feige says: “We think it would be cool. Someday. … I think Blade is a legacy character now, and I think it would be fun to do something with him one day.” [JoBlo]

Predator 2

The Predator: Jake Busey says that the character he plays in Shane Black’s upcoming The Predator is the son of the character played by his father, Gary Busey, in Predator 2 (above). The younger Busey also says: “If you liked the very first movie a lot, you’ll really like this one. This one has a lot of essence of the first movie.” Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay, Olivia Munn, Keegan-Michael Key, Edward James Olmos, Trevante Rhodes and Thomas Jane star; The Predator is due in theaters on August 3, 2018. The Foreigner

The Foreigner Trailer: Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan star in the first trailer for The Foreigner. Chan plays a businessman in London with a shadowy past whose daughter is taken from him, prompting him to seek justice. He crosses paths with Brosnan, a British government official with his own mysterious past. The action-thriller will open on October 13. [Movieclips]
