Movie News: ‘Wonder Woman’ Sequel Now Being Written; Jack Black and Eli Roth to Team for Gothic Horror

Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman: Director Patty Jenkins (above with Gal Gadot) and producer Geoff Johns are currently working on a treatment for a Wonder Woman sequel. Generally considered a detailed outline, a treatment comes before a script is written. Jenkins has not yet been confirmed as director for the project, but at least we know she’s had a hand in the creative development. Johns says: “The goal is to make another great Wonder Woman film. I had a blast making it with Patty the first time. We’ve got a cool idea for the second one.” [Variety]

The House with a Clock in Its Walls: Jack Black (Goosebumps, above) and director Eli Roth will team on The House with a Clock in Its Walls. It’s based on a gothic horror book, written by John Bellairs and illustrated by Edward Gorey, which follows a newly orphaned boy “who discovers a world of hidden passageways, magic and danger in his uncle’s old house.” Eric Kripke (TV’s Supernatural) wrote the screenplay. The Twilight Zone: Christine Lavaf will write a new screenplay for a new big-screen adaptation of The Twilight Zone. The first movie adaptation, based on the classic TV show created and hosted by Rod Serling, was released in 1982 (above); a new version has been in development since 2009. Lavaf sold three original scripts last year and also shared in the writers’ room for the next Godzilla movie. [Variety]
