Star Wars: Episode IX: Carrie Fisher will appear in Star Wars: Episode IX, according to her brother, Todd Fisher. He says that he and Fisher’s daughter, Billie Lourd, have granted approval for Disney to use recent footage in the upcoming ninth installment of the series. Lucasfilm has already indicated they have “no plans to digitally re-create Carrie Fisher’s performance as Princess or General Leia Organa.” The movie is expected in theaters on May 24, 2019. Baywatch: Dwayne Johnson says the movie version of Baywatch is “far dirtier than the [TV] show ever was. … We worked hard to make sure the flesh quota was high, there’s more gratuitous boobs, bums, abs, whatever per minute than you can imagine. Plot was important, don’t get me wrong, but so was sorting out our slow-motion runs.” The release date has now been moved up one day, so the movie will open on Thursday, May 25. [The Sun/Deadline]

Dungeons and Dragons: Recently, Joe Manganiello voiced a role in Smurfs: The Lost Village (above); but it turns out that the actor has also been busy working on a script for a potential Dungeons and Dragons movie. The script by John Cassel is based on Dragons of Autumn Twilight, a novel by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman inspired by the role-playing game. [Collider]
