The Fate of the Furious / The Lone Ranger

Shazam: Dwayne Johnson (The Fate of the Furious, above left) has confirmed that his DC debut as Black Adam is in the works, but what about the character’s arch nemesis, the superhero known as Shazam? Johnson declined to name names in a recent interview, but he referred to an actor he met who was “a lot bigger than I thought he would be” and appeared in The Lone Ranger, leading to the conclusion that he was talking about Armie Hammer (above right), who starred as the titular character and stands six feet, five inches tall. Zac Efron

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile: Zac Efron will portray notorious serial killer Ted Bundy in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. Academy Award-nominated documentary filmmaker Joe Berlinger (Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory) will direct the feature from a script by Michael Werwie. The true-life story will be told through the eyes of Bundy’s longtime girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer, who spent years denying serious accusations before eventually turning in Bundy to the police. Captive State

Captive State: John Goodman is featured in the first photo from Captive State. Set in Chicago nearly 10 years after an invasion and occupation by an extraterrestrial force, the movie explores the lives of those who collaborated and those who resisted. Ashton Sanders, Jonathan Majors and Vera Farmiga also star; Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) directed. The sci-fi thriller is set for release on August 17, 2018. [Focus Features]
