News Briefs: ‘Logan’ Returning in Black and White


Logan: Hugh Jackman is returning to theaters as Wolverine. Director James Mangold says that a black-and-white version of Logan will screen for one night only on May 16. He noted: “We were making a color film but were all conscious that the hard-edge lighting schemes would play well in monochrome. Photos confirmed it.” [Twitter via THR]

X-Men: Stan Lee will make a cameo appearance in the upcoming X-Men television series. Bryan Singer shared a photo on social media from the production. Singer directed the pilot episode for the show, which will be broadcast on Fox; it stars Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker. [Instagram via Collider]

Free Fire / Fifty Shades Darker

H-Block: Cillian Murphy (Free Fire, above left) and Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades Darker, above right) will star in H-Block, based on a true story about a mass escape by 38 prisoners from a maximum-security facility in Northern Ireland in 1983.
